Some of you might feel that I have not made enough contributions to my dear friend Smaug's forum as a moderator, to which I would kindly reply that a wizard is never lazy when it comes to forum posts; he posts PRECISELY when he means to
Here is a mostly irrelevant but encouraging article about Christopher Lee; look towards the end of the article for what he has to say about the upcoming Hobbit movie and sequel/bridge movie: http://www.miamiherald.com/776/story/374044.html

Here the Hobbit part from the article:
| Quote: | Noting that it was recently announced that Peter Jackson had agreed to film a couple of prequels about "The Hobbit," Lee said he hoped that "Mr. Jackson" might found a place for him in those movies.
"I don't know if that will happen but I would certainly be interested in doing it," Lee said.
It would be surprising if Jackson couldn't find a part for Christopher Lee, a man who has been a movie icon for more than 50 years and is still going strong. |

| It would be a sad day in Middle Earth if Lee wasn't cast as Saruman, wherever he would fit best in the upcoming movies. He balances out Ian Mclellan's Gandalf so perfectly. |

Bart,
Can I just remark about the fact that your signature is one of the most powerful lines of the entire trilogy for me? Call me an old softy wizard if you will but I swear that I get misty eyed no many how many times I see this part of the movie. This is one of the lines that totally sold me on PJ's interpretation of the books (that and of course because the trilogy was the most marvelous piece of cinematic art ever created of course!). This line (as well as this whole scene), wasn't in the book if I recall correctly, but it was such an important and beautiful addition to the tale and I am so glad that PJ chose to do this scene the way that he did. Anyway, thanks for bringing it back to the fore-front of my mind friend! _________________ Many that live deserve death, and some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them Frodo? |

| Hmm, been a while since I read the book, so not 100% sure about all the secondary characters. How about the Mayor of Laketown? |

He's in the second White Council, which is probably something they will put in one of the two movies since it's such a big chunk of time. _________________ Facebook

| Yup. I didn't read about the second movie taking place after the events of the Hobbit until after I posted above. It would be obvious who he'd play in that case. |

I agree!
IMHO that is one of the most well done, emotional(without being corny) and powerful "death" scenes in the history of movies.

I am not sure how old that article is, but I thought that C. Lee had ruled himself out for the new movies because he thought he was too old for this?
Hopefully, he will be in them. _________________ The road goes ever on and on... |

| Of course my first thought on this is, "Uh oh, Saruman was not featured in 'The Hobbit' why would he show up in the movie adaptation!?" I realize, though, that this is useless, so, I suppose if the movie-makers feel that Saruman *must* appear in "The Hobbit" for whatever strange reason then I hope Christopher Lee does reprise his role. |
