I think its great that they are incorporating some LOTR cast members but I hope they don't change the storyline to accomodate other previous actors. Aragorn for one would have no place in the the Hobbit (Legolas would be doable because his father is involved).

Aragorn will not be in the movie... at least not in "The Hobbit book"-part
I doubt Legolas will be in the film too...

Legolas may be used when the Dwarves are brough before the Wood Elf king, who Is his father, and the battle of five armies. However since film 1
will likely end with eather gandalf leaving Bilbo and the Dwarves or The
Dwarves being captured by wood elves Legolas If uses will not be seen
till film 2.

Aragorn will have a good part in some of the events along side the Hobbit, retrieving Gollum and taking him to Mirkwood. I'm sure they will include some of his character building and at least have something showing him and Arwen meeting and some brief scenes with him and Elrond.

I think it would be cool to see him watching over the Shire or serving in the armies of Gondor but I'm sure that will not be in the movie.

Very unlikely Aragoen will appear except as a boy In Rivendale.

It IS expected besides the main Hobbit events we will see Sauron coming to Dol Guldur, some stuff on Thorin's father, and the White Council
storyline.

Since film 2 will not be a bridge film we will likely see after the aftermath of the battle of five armies Bilbo's trip home,a stop at Rivendale,Bilbo returning to the shire, and Gandalf and Beon visiting Bilbo years later to lead Into the fellowship of the rings. We might see Gollum leaving the
misty Mountians In film 2 In search of the ring but doudtful we will
Aragoen In pursuit of Gollum.

I doubt they'd leave out an important Rings character like Aragorn and Arwen. It'd be hard to put them in though. But, don't forget, we still need to concentrate on Gollum, and if we do that, then Aragorn and Gandalf can be involved. Remember, Aragorn catches Gollum and brings him to the Mirkwood elves, where he gets trapped in a tree and then escapes when orcs come to take him to be tortured in Mordor. So Aragorn can be added in then. But it would make the movie exponentially longer, which isn't bad. I think that needs to happen.
As for legolas, he is a Mirkwood elf, and I think he is a son of King Thurandil (or however you spell his name) So he could have a cameo of some sort. Or they could show Aragorn and him being aqauinted when he drops off Gollum. Gimli could be put in as well too! lol. Just matters on what Del Toro thinks. I think we need the movie to be as long as possible (3 hours) so this stuff can be added in.

I just began to wonder...

In the book the main plot was Bilbo and the Dwarves journey to The Lonely Mountain and kill Smaug... but in this film it will probably be Dol Guldur actually... or what do you think?

Wasn't there revealed the reason Gandalf added the dwarves was
he feared alliance between Sauron and Smaug? I think we can
expect some kind of connection between the White Council plot and
the quest.

i expect we will see Arwen In the Rivendale parts but I am skepical
of seeing the whole Aragoen pursing Goullum part.I think we could see
younger aragoen meet Arwen, and Goullum leaving the Misty Mountians In search of the ring but unlikely to show a great deal after the battle of
five armies.

Don't forget we know they will be doing stuff with sauron In Dol Guldur and with Thorin's father before they get to Bilbo In the shire and Gandalf recruiting him to aid the dwarves.I expect we will see Smaug driving out the dwarves,Thorin's father being captured,Gandalf looking for him and ultimetly receiving the map,and meeting of the white Council where
Gandalf wants to attack Dol Guldur but Is overruled.

I'm sure John Rhys-Davies would dread playing Gimli again because of his hatred of the prosthetics he had to wear. In fact in the ROTK Special Features he promised he would never play a dwarf again and burned his prosthetics. Laughing Plus, I don't know how old Gimli was then, probably too young.

Gimli is far from a must in The hobbit... but it had been cool to see him in the films Very Happy
