| That's great, the music is so much a part of the LOTR movies that it just wouldn't be the same without hearing the familiar sounds from the trilogy. Excellent news! |

He's already got a head start too, he's been coming up with themes. It'd be pretty nice to compose a movie like this, because if you know the book you know what is going to happen, and what the feel of everything will most likely be. I wouldn't be surprised if he had half the movie before they even started filming. _________________ Facebook

I can't find it anymore but there was a mock trailer on youtube which used a style of music I thought would be quite cool for the hobbit... Rather than being brash and epic like LOTR it was a bit smaller but with a sort of... mystical, mournful, clear sound to it, it was a bit more minimal, and really built tension nicely.
I'm sure howard shore will make the the music fit really well, It'd be nice to hear some of that slightly folky style again from the beginning of fellowship... I just had this slightly comedic image in my head though of the LOTR soundtrack being really OTT and dramatic over some of the scences in the hobbit.... Obviously the hobbit does get epic, but I'm just saying I'll be interested to see how it sounds |

The trailer you're referring to features music from Requiem for a Dream, and I believe it has footage from Dragonslayer and Dragonheart. _________________ Facebook
