I saw this on Variety. I'm glad they finally made it official. Everyone knew it would happen. I hope it will be a speedy jump into pre-production. I'm looking forward to see what the cast looks like, and I am excited to see production stills. I hope they do a production video blog, like Jackson does frequently.

Probably not. They didn't use digital cameras for the trilogy, and since they are shooting for consistency they would most likely use the same type of cameras as the trilogy... that way it won't look different.
