The one thing that might really hurt these two movies is the amount of people whose only knowledge of Middle-Earth is from only The Hobbit and LOTR. I can imagine tons of people getting upset for characters returning in their rightful place in the timeline because they don't know that there are a lot of events that happen during and after those in The Hobbit.

Aragorn and Arwen in the second movie would be great!
Have heard many speculations about actors returning, but nothing about Hugo Weaving? Elrond is an important character in middle-earth and I dont want to see two different Elronds? That would mess up the hobbit movie..
I hope they get in touch with Hugo too!.. soon! |
