"We believe there is a second movie," del Toro said during a discussion at the Majestic Crest. "If there isn't, there will not be. If we find it, we will shoot it, but by God, if we do not find it, we will not shoot it. I am anxious to shoot the book, and I'm willing and able to dedicate myself to shooting the [second film]" _________________ Sic hobbitur ad astra |

| O wow. hopefully this is a tabloid, or he said something that came out wrong. That sends shivers down my spine about him being the director! |

I would rather them not make a second movie it is going to be a not well done second movie. I don't want them to not be able to get a strong plot and just shoot something cause they can. _________________ My Facebook

| Did you read my idea? I think they should mix the plots together as they did with Arwen and Aragorn (they took them out of the appendices and added in the main story line!). If we added the appendices to the real story it would make it more dramatic and people would REALLY want to see it! It would also create suspence so people would want to see the second movie to see what happens next (the battle of five armies and maybe mirk wood and the journey to laketown and all that good stuff!!) i just read the last half of the book last night! i Was so exited! i also read the meeting of Arwen and Aragorn and that would be perfect timeing for the hobbit! When arwen travels back from Loth Lorien to Rivendell. Theres also the fact that Gandalf goes to the white concil when he leaves and then they go and drive the necromancer (Sauron) out from Dol Guldor (or however you spell it) in southern Mirkwood! Wow I'm just realizing this movie will be great!!!!! |

Me, too. I wanted PJ to direct it from the beginning, and I was a little worried about GDT coming in, but then I got used to the idea. Now I am worried all over again!
screams, I think that they have plenty of material to make a good movie, they just need to do it right. But I agree with you, I wouldn't want them to ruin it just because they want more money. _________________ God Bless |

Hopefully that's all he meant, that if the script for the second movie is weak, he would rather walk away than be associated with something that isn't first-rate. If that's what he was saying, I can go along with that.
The second part of the article, where he rants about bank robbers, I don't know what to make of that. Apparently he was at some kind of party in LA, maybe he just had too much champagne |

I really don't mind if there's no second movie, but the more Middle-earth stuff to watch, the better. _________________ I will give you a name, and I shall call you Sting. |

| LOL your kind of right... he does have quite a vocabulary for people to earn his respect. But he's a good guy, and alot of people respect him for who he is... i think its quite funny lol. If you watch the documentary on Pan's Labyrinth you'll love it. |

I know there is plenty of material. The thing is that they might have so much that they can't really do anything with it. A movie has to have a rising tension with the whole crisis/resolve thing until the climax... everyone knows that... but if they can't get something that just falls naturally into a well plotted movie then they should leave it alone. I trust they will make the right decision. _________________ My Facebook

I hope they'll find a good plot for the second movie
I'd rather have one good Hobbit movie than a good hobbit movie and a bad second movie _________________ I would have followed you, my brother. My captain. My King. |

The GDT remark surely sounds like orc mischief to me! _________________ laoban

He can talk however he wants. It's not like he's the only person to have ever said the f word. I'm not going to start talking like him by listening to him. _________________ My Facebook
