I just so want them to get started filming, until then I won't quite believe its really going to happen. Plus then we'll probably start getting some pics of bits of it which'll be exciting... 2010 sounds ages, but i suppose its 2009 next month

I am so asking for The Hobbit for Christmas! I was hoping it would come out in 2010, a nice highschool graduation gift.

Before then is going to be just as exciting as when it actually is filming. We get to hear who will be involved... casting, crew, locations, etc. I am excited to speculate on production pictures, trying to figure out what scene they might be working on.

Yeah, I wish it was earlier, but radagast, think of all the things that they still have to do: Casting, building a team with animators etcetcetcetc......, finding locations, budgeting, and all the other pre production. I'm really excited about when the first few pics come out and we can start to see what the film is going to look like!

Off topic, but I wonder if people on GDT's team look at forums like this just to see what we think and want to see. I mean, wouldn't it be awesome if your post helped shape the making of a huge movie! That'd be awesome, almost as awesome as owning a set piece or prop from LOTR.

I think they pushed it far back so that when it did come out, people would actually want to buy the movie and not just go see it once and it will also allow them to sell more copies of their other movies.
